Sing your inner song…
I have always loved connecting to other people through music.
The act of sharing my voice through singing has always been my truest form of expression.
Listening to stories told through music in any genre is to my ears and imagination the most interesting vehicle for storytelling.
It is my artistic purpose as a singing teacher and coach to spark curiosity, build confidence, and break down perceived boundaries you may have about your voice. I will guide you toward building the technical and expressive skills you need to access your own inner song and experience the joy of singing.
What I do:
I am a singing teacher and coach.
I am a vocal adjudicator for music festivals and competitions.
I am a workshop clinician for a variety of age groups and on a variety of topics.
I am a masterclass clinician and work with a wide variety of age groups and organizations.
I am a voice instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario, and maintain a private teaching practice in Stratford Ontario.
Private 1:1 lessons can be 45 minutes or 60 minutes in length depending on your needs
I teach online or in person in my home studio
I specialize in classical, musical theatre, and cross-over repertoire
My pedagogy combines elements of bel canto and contemporary commercial music (CCM) vocal techniques
I coach at The Stratford Festival of Canada, and the Birmingham Conservatory – the elite training programme at the Stratford Festival. I also maintain a private coaching practise both online, and in my home studio in Stratford Ontario.
1:1 sessions can be 45 minutes or 60 minutes in length depending on your needs.
I coach online and in my home studio
I coach professional actors and musical theatre performers
As an adjudicator my goal is to deliver concise and tangible suggestions both in written and spoken form which address technique as well as interpretation. My goal is to deliver constructive ideas with kindness and empathy, and to motivate students to take their performances to new heights. I adjudicate classical and musical theatre repertoire in junior, intermediate and senior age groups.
Taking risks is part of learning. As a masterclass clinician I aim to create a space where students can play and explore, interaction is positive and constructive, and collaboration is key. It is an important part of my mandate as a clinician to help performers feel like they can ask questions, try new ideas without judgement, and in doing so, make progress.
I have created a number of workshops focusing on my areas of specialty. I am available to present these workshops with your studio, or for your organization. Contact me about availability and pricing.
